When we say Play By The Rules, we don't mean these Rules are codified policies - but they are unwritten norms of our piano-playing community on the University of Sydney campus, which we encourage you to apply with common sense :)
Check if individuals or groups are already using the piano.
Respect the piano and others around you.
Don't be afraid of people listening to you play!
No food/drink near the piano, please!
After use: replace the dust cover, close the fallboard, shut the top and replace all covers
Ensure the dehumidifer remains plugged in.
Report issues to PianoSoc.
Out of respect for the university community, only pianos available for public use are listed on our website. Whilst there are other pianos around USYD, they may not be suitable for general public use, and we ask that you remain mindful of your surroundings if you choose to use these pianos. For researchers or archivists, we have an internal archive database of all pianos at the university and can provide limited guidance – to access this, please contact us directly.

For many years, PianoSoc has, on many occasions, asked the USU to consider maintaining their pianos or assisting with maintaining ours. Feedback can be provided to the USU at usu.edu.au/contact and the President of the USU Board can be contacted at president@usu.edu.au.
